Introducing our New Initiative: The Wellness Exchange
The Wellness Exchange is an innovative, low-barrier resource model designed to meet students where they are by providing self-serve access to essential items with dignity and ease. Originally launched in the Peterson Heritage Building, the Exchange includes access to food pantry items, thrift clothing, hygiene products, pleasure packs, and self-guided wellness tools - no appointment, intake process, or eligibility requirements needed. Students are invited to take what they need and give what they can, reinforcing a culture of mutual support and community care.
This model extends beyond one physical space. Satellite locations across campus (including Housing, student support areas, and other partner spaces) bring these resources closer to students, reducing stigma and increasing convenience. Supported by data tracking, collaborative partnerships, and student leadership, the Wellness Exchange promotes overall wellbeing, retention, and academic success by addressing basic needs. Contributions to this crowdfunding campaign directly support expanding inventory, creating additional satellite sites, and ensuring sustainable access to vital resources throughout campus. Together, we are shaping a more caring and resilient university community.
